Thomas Jones has come to Vegas to win yet another account for his marketing company. But when he sits across from beautiful and sensual Brianna Faulk to deliver his pitch, his desire to leave Vegas as quickly as possible is replaced by the need to get close to her. Yet she resists his
charm.
Brianna knows a date with Thomas could jeopardize her job, but he’s so maddening and insistent, she has a hard time denying him just one date. But that’s all it can be: one date. Because she has to protect her job and her secrets, even if it means giving up a chance at a life she never thought she’d have again.
Review:
Immediately after I finished this book, I just let out a deep, long sigh. I really didn't want it to end. The start was a bit rocky for me, I was a bit afraid it was going to be sex, sex, sex. I almost quit reading after the first couple chapters. I'm so glad that I didn't judge so quickly and miss out on this lovely gem. So if you're like me, and you like a romance that doesn't revolve around what's going on between the sheets, don't let the start of this book deter you!!
Brianna's children were hilarious, and her younger son reminded me a lot of my own. Transformers, Transformers, Transformers!! For me, the children were just so excellently developed that the story itself had extra life to it. The way they acted seemed so perfect for children that had lost their father. Not only children that lost their father, but the fact they were actually realistically children! I get annoyed when authors write a book with children, then make them far too advanced for their age, but this was fantastically well done. I would definitely be surprised if this author didn't have children of her own. Hmm.. Kind of went off on a tangent there. =P
Anyhow...
The love story was adorable and made me laugh on several occasions. Thomas' ability to expertly fit his foot in his mouth reminded me a lot of my husband, which made me laugh even more. Definitely worth the time to read, and I suggest it to everyone who enjoys contemporary romance.
